Background
Originally from Minnesota, Leslie attended the University of Minnesota and graduated from Fort Lewis College in Durango, CO. A Master’s degree in Design, Construction Management and Historic Preservation from Colorado State University led Leslie to the mountains of Steamboat Springs to ski and find her niche in interior design.
Silver Creek Design originated in 1997 when she began designing luxury, custom cabinets for Rustic Woodworks in the Yampa Valley. She learned the highly specific and technical aspects of cabinetry and furniture making.
Her entrepreneurial spark led to owning and operating a retail design and furniture showroom in Steamboat for seven years. At that time she focused on multi-unit hospitality projects, new construction and residential renovations with finishes ranging from the historic to the modern.
Leslie’s broad background in construction management has included being a project manager for a historic restoration contractor in Fort Collins, Colorado, overseeing the renovation of numerous condominiums and town homes, and being the contractor and designer of several multi-million dollar projects in Steamboat Springs.
Silver Creek Design was the lead design group for Wilton Development from 2007-2009, during which Leslie and her team completed two luxury spec-homes in the area. The Heavenly View project (see portfolio) sold within three months of completion with a net profit of nearly two million dollars.
